Dune is built on angular, stepped geometry inspired by pyramids. It looks great in warm tones such as gold, copper and resin, and on light armor like iron and chainmail, where the geometry stays crisp.
Where to find the Dune template
Desert pyramids are sandstone temples that rise out of desert biomes. They are visible from a distance, so ride or fly over the dunes and look for the orange-and-tan facade.
Inside, a coloured terracotta pattern on the floor marks the centre. Under it is a shaft down to a chamber with four chests, one at each side, and a pressure plate in the middle wired to TNT.
Field tips
- Do not jump straight down the shaft. Dig down beside it or place a block on the pressure plate before you land.
- Desert pyramids also contain suspicious sand that you can brush for pottery sherds. Bring a brush to make the trip count twice.
- The TNT under the floor is free loot once the pressure plate is broken.

How to duplicate Dune
Templates are used up at the smithing table, so copy yours before you apply it. The recipe costs seven diamonds and one sandstone, and gives you two templates.
Applying the trim
At a smithing table, put the template in the first slot, the armor piece in the second and your trim material in the third. Repeat for each piece. Each piece takes one template, so a full set needs four.

How do you duplicate the Dune trim?

Is Dune found by brushing suspicious sand?
No. Desert pyramid suspicious sand gives sherds and other archaeology loot. Dune templates only come from the four chests.
