Snout is blunt and heavy, with a squared-off frame on the chest that recalls a piglin's face. It is made for gold: gold trim on netherite, or any trim on gold armor, gives the full piglin-treasury look.
Where to find the Snout template
Bastions generate in every Nether biome except basalt deltas. Their dark blackstone walls and gold block trim stand out against netherrack. There are four layouts: bridge, hoglin stables, housing units and the treasure room.
Chests are spread across walkways and rooms. Opening one angers nearby piglins even if you are wearing gold, so clear the area or be ready to fight before you loot.
Field tips
- Wear at least one piece of gold armor so ordinary piglins ignore you while you move around. Piglin brutes stay hostile regardless.
- Bastion treasure rooms are lava-heavy. Fire resistance potions are worth bringing.
- Blackstone for duplication is plentiful in the bastion walls.

How to duplicate Snout
Templates are used up at the smithing table, so copy yours before you apply it. The recipe costs seven diamonds and one blackstone, and gives you two templates.
Applying the trim
At a smithing table, put the template in the first slot, the armor piece in the second and your trim material in the third. Repeat for each piece. Each piece takes one template, so a full set needs four.
